Heart Notes: Can I have a word with you?
Have you chosen your word for the year?
In response to not wanting to set New Year's resolutions that I would grow tired of, or be hard on myself for not attaining, I began choosing a word for the year several years ago. A word to be a guide for my intention for the year. One year, my friend Mary Jane and I had the same word, which was fun.

This year I had two words in mind. Check out this new blog post Can I Have a Word with You? to see how I resolved this dilemma.

In case you missed it, here is another new post The year in review - a positive retrospective. I hope it will inspire you to start the year off on a happy note.

Journaling for Design online class
Do you want to create designs that express your inner self? Designs that are meaningful? Would you like to use journaling to become unblocked, to get your creativity flowing again? You've come to the right place! I will be teaching a class this February (online, so anyone can join in) called Journaling for Design. This 2 hour workshop is $50 US.

Registration is now open. My class is part of In the Studio online Workshop Week 6. We have nine workshops as well as a new feature of lectures over a period of a week or so. Registration includes two bonus events. You can view the registration package here.

In our monthly Creating Space live session on December 29 we talked about choosing a word for the year and strategies for rising above the doom and gloom predictions for 2023. And of course, how to reflect this outlook in our artwork and creative pursuits. It's about attracting abundance!

Stay well and keep looking for those moments of joy. I hope you've chosen a great word for the year. Let me know your word by replying to this email. Thanks for reading and connecting. It means the world to me.

Artwork in Progress

My house has been full of visitors (hooray!), so I put my Cheticamp frame away for a couple of weeks. (Yes, I'm missing it!) In the meantime, I've been knitting a few gifts and preparing to take not one, but two classes this month! I'm taking Fiona Duthie's Surface Design in Feltmaking class, as well as Jean Haley's Winter Hat Hook Along. I'm a little over the top excited!

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
