Heart Notes: Your tribe is calling
Who is your tribe?
Your ride or die buddies. The people who you feel totally comfortable with, who have your back no matter what. As life changes, so does our community. During times of transition we can feel unmoored, without community. Here is a blog post I wrote in 2017 about sisterhood and finding your tribe. It's called Sisterhood in the Making. At the time I wrote it, I was designing and hooking my very first Wild Woman mat - 'Wild Woman Sisterhood'.  You can see her in my online gallery. And if you're in the neighbourhood, this month she can be seen at ART1274 Hollis Gallery in Halifax.

When you find your tribe (for a moment or forever) what is that like? How does your body feel when you are with them? These are some of the questions we've been pondering recently in my Creating Space community. Check out the community. We'd love to have you join us as we create space for creativity and finding our inner wild selves.

Artwork in Progress

'Wild Woman Spreads Her Wings' is almost complete! It is a mixed media piece, combining wet felted fabric stuffed with wool fleece, and rug hooking. I'm so excited about it!

I took an online workshop recently with Judit Pocs, a Hungarian felting artist. The class was wonderful! Here is the necklace I made. It was made with 16 micron merino wool roving and prefelt. The center is a vibrant lime green layer of Ramie fibres that I'm hoping will be more prominent once it dries. Sometimes it's nice to take a class and make something just for fun. Let me know by replying to this email what classes you are taking these days!

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
