Heart Notes: The gift of what is
Sometimes plans go awry and we are left with what is.
Recently my wonderful plans to visit my son and his partner in Vancouver were interrupted as my husband developed Covid. (He's fine now.) I spent a few moments feeling heartbroken, wrote in my journal and then did a pivot.

Instead of being disappointed I decided to take the time off and just make things! I washed fleece, spun yarn, dyed yarns and fabrics, put a new Wild Woman design on my Cheticamp frame and did not look at one to-do list! It was a wonderful ten days. If this resonates with you, check out my newest blog post The gift of what is (complete with a writing/sketching prompt) and share it with a friend.

The Art of Mothering: Our Lives in Colour and Shadow by Karen Miller is out! I'm delighted to be one of 22 contributing artists. I'm still waiting for my copy, but had a quick look at a friend's book and it is wonderful! I'll have more about it in the next Heart Notes, but in the meantime, I wanted you to know about it. (Canadians can purchase the book directly from Karen.)

Creating Space
Creating Space "Last week I decided to use your prompt for an art journaling page... It was a great exercise in understanding my thinking processes and overcoming that 'perfectionism' tendency. Art journaling has been such a fun and stimulating pastime. I'll be using today's prompt to do my journal page tonight." Linda Daley

Artwork in Progress

I have a new Wild Woman on my Cheticamp frame. She's called 'Wild Woman Says "I am enough"'.  In keeping with my recent series of Wild Woman Hair minis 'Ode to Lisa LaFlamme' series, she has gorgeous grey hair! The words from my journal that surround her as I hook are "I have so much to offer", "Grey hair rocks", and "I'm just getting started".

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
