Heart Notes: Funny how opportunities present themselves
I was presented with an 'opportunity' to
listen at an even deeper level. This opportunity (in the form of a bad fall in December) and my strategies for how to find the silver lining and accept it with grace and self compassion is the subject of this new blog post An opportunity for listening.

Thanks to those of you who replied to the last Heart Notes with your intentions and words for 2024. It was very inspiring! A very warm and cozy welcome to the many new subscribers to Heart Notes. I'm so happy you are here.

Journaling for Design - a few spots left
Now that the holidays are over, are you looking to make time for you? Do you want to create designs that express your inner self? Designs that are meaningful? Would you like to use journaling to get unblocked, to get your creativity flowing again?

What’s included: In this two hour class we will learn how to establish a creative journaling practice that will become part of your design process. We will cover how to begin and sustain a journaling practice, how to get unblocked through journaling and sketching, tapping into the body feeling to create designs that come from within and more. Get ready to write and sketch – and design using my book One Loop at a Time, The Creativity Workbook.

Artwork in Progress

Due to the opportunity I mentioned above, my new abstract design is drawn on the linen and I have started to think about colours and what yarns to spin to include, but I have yet to get it on my frame. It is called Spacious and is inspired by my word for the year Spaciousness.

Because I need to keep my hands busy, I have started a crocheted temperature blanket. I had some Briggs & Little yarn to use up, so am recording the daily high temperatures and using this yarn to crochet a row each night. It's a fun and simple project. With so many fluctuations in our temperatures this January, I am getting to change colours frequently.

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
