Heart Notes: Freedom to choose - the grey edition
In these dark days of almost Solstice,
I find myself being drawn to the colour grey. I'm spinning two grey Gotland lamb fleeces into the bumpy, shiny yarn I love to hook with. I've been working on a series of grey haired women that I call my 'Ode to Lisa LaFlamme' series. And I've been thinking about people who have inspired me this year. The exciting news is, a friend connected me with Ms. LaFlamme and I've written a blog post with her comments. It is called Is grey the new burning our bras? I hope it resonates with you.

New class coming soon
Do you want to create designs that express your inner self? Designs that are meaningful? Would you like to use journaling to become unblocked, to get your creativity flowing again? You've come to the right place! I will be teaching a class this February (online, so anyone can join in) called Journaling for Design. Registration is opening soon. My class is part of In the Studio online Workshop Week 6. We have nine workshops as well as a new feature of lectures over a period of a week or so. Let me know if you are interested and I will be sure you get the registration package as soon as it is available.

In Creating Space our December prompts have been around how to make time and space for our own well-being during this busy season. Tomorrow's prompt is about giving the gift of inspiration. It has been so much fun!

Artwork in Progress

I've been traveling and itching to get a new design on my Cheticamp frame. The design I have in my journal is another in my 'I am enough' series. This one will be hooked with a grey background and will feature abstract shapes in the eight Chakra colours. I can't wait to get started on it.

I purchased another glorious fleece from Veronica at Dover Farm. Her fleeces are always super clean, and she includes careful notes about the quality of the fleece so there are no surprises. This one is another Gotland lamb fleece in a soft pewter colour. As soon as I clear my desk a bit I will be starting to wash it.

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
