excellent adventures. After several years of the Covid Pandemic we needed a summer without lockdowns. In Nova Scotia the virus is still active, and I am back to wearing a mask on the ferry and going into shops. How about where you are living?
This month
I am away on several adventures: family vacation; teaching on Get Hooked at Sea; and a visit to Ontario to celebrate my mom's life. As a result, I will only be sending out one Heart Notes newsletter in August. In September I will be back to my usual twice a month publication.
In our Creating Space community we are writing, sketching and making art about adventure this month. I received this lovely note from a participant: "Hi Meryl, I was excited to see your prompt today, I love adventure and it made me realize how much I have missed it this last few years. Lots of changes in my life and when I read your prompt it made me realize I need to get adventuring once again." Kathy Boyd
Registration for In the Studio Workshop Week 5 in October is open! This online week of workshops, panel discussions and artist gatherings takes place October 23 to 30. We have a really super lineup of classes. Teachers include Susan Feller, Elizabeth Miller, Rebecca Martin, Nadine Flagel, Anastasia Tiller, Domenica Queen, Karen Miller and myself. I'm having so much fun working on one of a kind Chakra Colour pins for my shop and for a few galleries in Nova Scotia. These will be available in limited quantities soon. I even got a custom order to do a pin in the brand colours of a local business!
