This coming weekend I'll be in Booth 42 at the Craft Nova Scotia Designer Craft Show. I've been a juried member of Craft Nova Scotia for several years now (I think since 2019), but this is my first foray into having a booth at the show. I've booked a tiny booth (5' x 8') and am sorting through how to arrange it so it is beautiful and accessible. My goals for the
weekend are to experience having a booth, get my work in front of the collectors and gallery owners that I know attend the show, and maybe sell a few things. I'll be bringing a selection of my Wild Woman mats, Abstract mats, my Wearable Art Clothing, as well as my books and notecards.
So why am I telling you all of this, since my readers are spread throughout Canada and the US and even in the UK and Australia? I guess I wanted to share the idea of a stretch goal, of trying something new, of being curious - at whatever stage of life or career you are.
My hope is that you will wish me well, drop by to say hello if you are in the area, and/or share with me what are you doing to stretch yourself, to be curious these days? Just hit reply to this email and let me know. I'd love to hear from you.
Like many of you,
"This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.
I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge — even wisdom. Like art."
The only thing I would add to this discussion is we need to feel our feelings, and maybe even sit with them for a bit before we pick ourselves up and make great art.
Renegade Conversations Season Four
Season Four of Renegade Conversations is in full swing. This Friday a refreshing and down to earth discussion with Lil MacPherson launches. If you are interested in food security and the environment, this is the episode for you. Plus, Lil is an experienced entrepreneur and restauranteur and has lots to say about how to become a renegade!
The final episode of Season Four will be released on November 29 with LinkedIn expert Shelly Elsliger. Hint - there will be red high heels! I know each season I say this is going to be the best season ever, but I truly believe Season Four is the best season yet!
You can access Renegade Conversations on YouTube here. Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel . Or if you prefer to listen only, the audio version is available on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
Wearable Art I will have a selection of pieces at my booth at the Craft Nova Scotia Designer Craft Show November 15 to 17.
Check out my latest Artworks in progress below. I hope you like them!

Artwork in Progress Most of my creative energy is going into preparing for the
Craft Nova Scotia Designer Craft Show this weekend. However, I'm taking time each day to work on a new shawl on my Tri-loom. This one is a monochromatic palette in greys, with both commercial and hand spun yarns (see photo below).
If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available. If you have a favourite jean jacket and would like an original jean jacket art design hooked by me, contact me.
