Heart Notes: Corn and tomatoes
September is a great time
for making changes. What changes are you planning to your routine this fall?

Changes to Heart Notes
In the interest of streamlining and providing the content you are most interested in, I'm making changes to this Heart Notes newsletter and adding two additional mailings, Renegade Conversations Notes and Wearable Art Notes. Heart Notes will be once a month and will focus on art, self care and inner wild woman work. Renegade Conversations will be to announce new episodes (6 per season) and share snippets of the conversations. Wearable Art Notes will be whenever there are new designs or new collections added. You will receive each of these newsletters and it will be easy to unsubscribe so you receive only the content that interests you and makes your heart sing.

Notes from my journal - New Blog Post
Are you an empath? Someone who feels deeply what the people around you are experiencing? Do you operate on a mostly intuitive level? People who know you may describe you as sensitive.

Having these qualities can be a great asset – for tuning into others, making them feel seen and heard and for a host of other things. But it can also be exhausting. It can lead you to getting involved in other people’s drama at the expense of your own well being.

If this sounds like you, you will want to check out my latest blog post Notes from my journal - Boundaries for some thoughts about how to create a nurturing boundary, along with a new writing prompt.

Renegade Conversations Season Four
Season Four of Renegade Conversations opens next Friday, September 20 with a conversation you won't want to miss. My guest is Dr. Julie Macfarlane, a co-founder of Can't Buy My Silence, Order of Canada recipient and respected academic. Expect more details and a link to our conversation next Friday in my new Renegade Conversations Notes.

You can access Renegade Conversations on YouTube here.
Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel . Or if you prefer to listen only, the audio version is available on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

I've added a few new designs to my Wearable Art collection here's the link to order online. Have a look and let me know what you think!

Check out my latest Artworks in progress below. I hope you like them!

This summer I took myself on several Artist Dates. This one was to Lawrencetown Beach for breakfast at the Lawrencetown Beach Cafe, followed by journalling on a bench overlooking the beach. Where is your favourite place for an Artist Date?
I love sending you these notes from my heart. It means so much to me that you take the time to read and sometimes even hit reply! Thanks so much for reading.

Warmly,

Artwork in Progress

This summer I had a couple of firsts. It was my first time plying yarn. I blended English Leicester locks on my blending board. Then I spun them, leaving the occasional curl and bump in the yarn (you know I like lots of texture for interest). Then I plied the yarns, which was quite a thrill in itself, and much easier than I thought it would be.

Even more exciting than the plying was using fresh leaf Indigo plants that I grew in my garden to dye the yarn and Dorr fabric. See the photos below for photos of the progress and results. I couldn't be more pleased with the colours I got from 7 dips of the yarn and fabric. Thanks to Tzigane Caddell of Tzindigo for getting me started!

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
