Heart Notes: Awards, dream gigs and more!
Do you love September?
It is one of my favourite months in Nova Scotia where I live. Still warm, sometimes cool nights and getting back to fall routines. I had a whirlwind summer of a family vacation; teaching on Get Hooked at Sea (I highly recommend this experience); and a visit to Ontario to celebrate my mom's life.

I'm honoured to have received a 60+ Achievement Award from Atlantic Business Magazine. "As the 60+ winners transform themselves, they're transforming their communities too. They aren't just inspirational; they're aspirational. Slow down? Not a chance. These folks are just getting started."

September has me planning an upcoming online course (see below), preparing for an upcoming art exhibit, as well as doing a series of creative journaling and rug hooking afternoons with
Landing Strong clients. Another dream gig.

Working with people suffering from PTSD at Landing Strong, as well as my own experience with losing my mom this summer got me thinking about the gifts in The In-between Times of Knowing and Not Knowing. I've written this new blog post, which has a new Writing Prompt, as well as a list of other resources for those times when life has gotten off track.

In our Creating Space live session this week we chatted about how to establish a journaling practice, art as social commentary and what is a wild woman? It was so much fun. Our next live session is September 29, so check out Creating Space and consider joining today.

There are still spaces in my online class Chakra Colours by Design - 101. I'm excited to be teaching as part of In the Studio Workshop Week once again. Click here to receive the course description and registration package.

Artwork in Progress

In  preparation for the December show Squared Away at The Ice House Gallery in Tatamagouche, I'm busy designing mini creations (6" x 6"), such as the Field of Dreams below. It was inspired by a Rumi quote that means a lot to me. I've also started a mini Wild Woman Hair series that I'm calling my Ode to Lisa LaFlamme.

If you would like to own one of my fibre art creations, take a look at my gallery or contact me. Custom designs also available.
